Introduction: The Siddiqui Welfare Society, in collaboration with the Global Medical Foundation, has inaugurated the "Global Cancer Shelter," a dedicated facility providing free accommodation for cancer patients in Aurangabad. This initiative addresses a critical need for patients who travel from afar for treatment and often face severe lodging challenges.
Inauguration Ceremony: The facility was officially opened on April 9, 2026. The event was graced by Dr. Arshad Naik (Dean of Government Cancer Hospital) as the chief guest and attended by prominent figures including Fazal, Shoaib, Dr. Prashant Mundalik, Sameer Sajid, Sharik Naqshbandi, and Osama Qadir. The inauguration highlighted the community's collective commitment to humanitarian service.
A Dignified Support System: Many cancer patients undergoing treatment at government hospitals are forced to spend nights on footpaths due to lack of affordable housing. The Global Cancer Shelter aims to provide these individuals with a safe, hygienic, and comfortable environment, allowing them to focus on their recovery without the added stress of finding a place to stay.
Collective Humanity: Leaders of the Siddiqui Welfare Society, including Masiuddin Siddiqui, Zafar Patel, and Sheikh Waseem, emphasized that this project is a "shining example of service to humanity." They expressed their resolve to continue expanding such welfare initiatives to ensure that no patient has to face the hardship of homelessness during their medical journey.
